TYPE/STYLE OF DOLLS I MAKE:

I enjoy working in cloth, with sculptured features.

When I design a piece, I sketch my ideas on paper, then draw the pattern pieces, at times I trial many pieces before I get it  just right. When I am happy with the parts I choose my fabrics, then from a piece of flat fabric a new creation comes to life, all my pieces are meticulously designed and hand crafted, using the finest materials.
Some pieces have armatures, needle sculpted faces, hands and articulated fingers.

Some are painted over cloth with gesso and/or acrylics, and some are paper clay over cloth.

My dolls are not necessarily ‘pretty’ but show real character.

Fantasy, dragons, elves, fairies and jesters are my preferred themes, but Medieval, Commedia D'Arte and costume history also interest me.
